Summary
ActivTrades is licensed by the FCA in the UK and the CMVM in Portugal, and serves international clients through companies in the Bahamas and Mauritius. Its owner is named in audited accounts filed in the UK, and the only recent enforcement found is a €14,000 anti-money-laundering fine on a Luxembourg subsidiary that has since been wound up.

Findings
Regulation & Licensing
78/100The FCA and CMVM authorisations were confirmed on the registers, as were the group’s companies in the Bahamas, Mauritius and Dubai. International clients are served by the Bahamas and Mauritius companies, outside the main retail protection regimes.
- StrengthActivTrades PLC has been authorised by the FCA since 27 October 2005 (FRN 434413) and can hold client money.
- StrengthActivMarkets Empresa de Investimento, S.A. has been authorised by Portugal’s CMVM since 8 September 2022, with a branch in Italy, according to ESMA’s register of investment firms.
- MediumInternational clients are served by ActivTrades Corp, listed by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas as at 30 September 2026, and ActivTrades Markets Ltd, licensed by the FSC Mauritius as an investment dealer since 21 August 2024. Both sit outside the main retail protection regimes.
- ObservationActivTrades Financial Services L.L.C is listed by the UAE Capital Market Authority as active since January 2026, for introduction and promotion only. ActivTrades CCTVM in Brazil is described in the group’s audited accounts as authorised by the Central Bank of Brazil and regulated by the CVM; we did not check the Brazilian registers.
- ObservationActivTrades Europe S.A. gave up its Luxembourg authorisation after deciding to cease activities and enter voluntary liquidation; the CSSF removed it from its list on 18 October 2024. A licence surrendered at the firm’s own request is not a sanction.
- ObservationActivTrades’ global site tells visitors from the EU that if they continue they will no longer be protected by the CMVM’s leverage limits or its restrictions on incentives, and that the firm may offer them incentives to trade.
Corporate Structure & Ownership
75/100The group is privately held. ActivTrades PLC files audited group accounts at Companies House, which name Alex Pusco as ultimate controlling party. Since a 2025 restructure the broker companies sit under ActivTrades Group Ltd, a Guernsey holding company whose accounts we did not find.
- StrengthActivTrades PLC’s group accounts for 2025, audited by Buzzacott Audit LLP and filed on 11 July 2026, state that the ultimate controlling party is Alex Pusco; Companies House records him as holding 75% or more of the company’s shares.
- ObservationIn 2025 ActivTrades Corp and ActivMarkets Empresa de Investimento, S.A. became direct subsidiaries of ActivTrades Group Ltd, a Guernsey holding company and parent of all the broker companies, including ActivTrades PLC. The Guernsey company’s accounts were not found in public sources.
Client Money & Payouts
77/100UK clients may be covered by the FSCS and EU clients by Portugal’s Investor Compensation System. ActivTrades states that client money is segregated and that retail clients have negative balance protection. Clients of the offshore companies have no compensation scheme; ActivTrades states it holds private insurance instead.
- StrengthActivTrades states that ActivMarkets participates in Portugal’s Investor Compensation System, which covers eligible claims up to €25,000, and that all retail accounts are protected from negative balances.
- MediumClients of ActivTrades Corp (Bahamas) and ActivTrades Markets Ltd (Mauritius) fall outside any investor compensation scheme. ActivTrades states that ActivTrades Corp holds insurance covering insolvency losses above $10,000 and up to $1,000,000; private insurance is not a statutory scheme.
Execution & Pricing
Not assessed in a desk audit. Spreads, slippage and fill quality can only be measured with live accounts.
Conduct & Disclosure
78/100The only enforcement action found in the last eight years is a €14,000 fine imposed by Luxembourg’s CSSF in 2024 for anti-money-laundering failings at ActivTrades Europe S.A. A 2011 UK fine for client money failings is older than eight years and is recorded but not scored.
- LowOn 24 December 2024, following an on-site inspection in 2023, the CSSF fined ActivTrades Europe S.A. €14,000 for anti-money-laundering failings, including insufficient information on the origin of funds for several clients and periodic reviews not carried out in 2022 for a relatively high share of high-risk clients. The CSSF stated that the firm’s decision to leave Luxembourg had no link with the sanction. The decision was published on 3 April 2025.
- ObservationOn 15 March 2011 the FSA fined ActivTrades PLC £85,750 for client money failings between April 2009 and September 2010, including holding client money in its own bank accounts. The decision is more than eight years old, so it is recorded here but not scored.
- ObservationThe FCA has published warnings about two clones of ActivTrades PLC, in 2023 and 2025. These concern firms unconnected with the group and are not scored.
Operational Resilience
Not assessed in a desk audit. Uptime, incident history and security controls require evidence from the firm or live monitoring.
People & Community
0/100No Great Place to Work certification and no documented community programme were found in public sources.
- ObservationNo Great Place to Work certification or community programme was found in public sources, and ActivTrades PLC’s 2025 directors’ report does not describe charitable donations.

Evidence and scope
Scope
Desk audit of the group’s client-facing entities, using public sources only: regulator registers and announcements, court and stock-exchange filings, and the firm’s own published documents, as available on 10 October 2026. No accounts were opened, nothing was tested live, and the firm was not asked for evidence.
Limitations
Absence of a public enforcement record is not evidence of good conduct. The FCA register’s list of disciplinary actions could not be displayed, so the FCA’s published notices were searched instead. The CMVM authorisation was checked on ESMA’s register rather than the CMVM’s own, and the Brazilian registers were not checked. The accounts of the Guernsey holding company were not found. The CMVM publishes many sanctions without naming firms. The share of clients served through the Bahamas and Mauritius companies could not be measured from public sources.
