Our standards for contributors

  • Original and written for TBR. Your own work, based on your own expertise.
  • Every factual claim sourced. Our editors check claims against primary sources before publication, as they do for all TBR reporting.
  • No promotion. You can draw on your experience, but a contribution is not a place to promote your firm, its products or its clients.
  • Interests disclosed. Tell us about any interest relevant to a piece; disclosures are printed with your profile and the article.
  • Separate from audits and scores. Contributors take no part in TBR's audits, grades or review scores, and contributing never affects them.
  • Not sponsored content. A contribution is editorial. Paid content is arranged separately and labelled as sponsored, as set out in our publishing standards.
  • You see the edit. We edit for accuracy, clarity and house style, and you see the edited version before it is published.

How it works

  1. Apply. Tell us about yourself and what you would like to write about, using the form below. If an editor has invited you, say who.
  2. Review. An editor reads every application and replies to those we can work with.
  3. Profile. We set up your contributor profile with your photo, expertise and biography, and you approve it before it goes live.
  4. Pitch, draft and edit. We agree the subject with you, you write the piece, and our editors edit and check it.
  5. Publication. Your article goes live with your byline and photo, and appears on your profile.
