Summary
Axi holds licences from ASIC, the FCA, CySEC and the DFSA, but its international website opens accounts with AxiTrader LLC in St Vincent and the Grenadines, which Axi itself describes as an unregulated company. In 2020 ASIC found that its Australian company had failed to meet client money and other legal requirements and decided to suspend its licence; the suspension was stayed and was set aside in 2021 after ASIC imposed additional licence conditions. Brazil’s CVM opened a sanctions case against the Australian company and AxiTrader LLC in February 2026. It is still open, and in October 2026 both companies told the CVM they intend to propose a settlement.

Findings
Regulation & Licensing
45/100The ASIC, FCA, CySEC and DFSA licences were confirmed on the regulators’ own registers or licensee data. Clients of the international website contract with AxiTrader LLC, which holds no financial licence.
- StrengthAxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd has held AFSL 318232 since 21 December 2007, and its Dubai branch has held DFSA licence F003742, with a retail endorsement, since 1 April 2018. Axi Financial Services (UK) Limited (FRN 466201) is FCA-authorised and may hold client money. Solaris EMEA Ltd has held CySEC licence 433/23 since 10 July 2023, with axi-solaris.com as its approved domain.
- HighThe international website is operated by AxiTrader LLC, a company registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines (number 4303 LLC 2025). Axi states that opening an account with it means opening an account with an unregulated company, without the leverage limits, compensation schemes and negative balance protection that apply to retail clients elsewhere.
- ObservationAxi Markets (Mauritius) Limited has held an investment dealer licence from the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius since 14 May 2026. We did not find it named on Axi’s websites.
- ObservationAxiTrader LLC offers a funded trader programme, Axi Select, and crypto perpetual futures with leverage of up to 125:1. This is recorded but not scored.
- ObservationAxiCorp Limited (FRN 509746) has not been authorised by the FCA since 2 February 2023; it was wound up in a members’ voluntary liquidation with a declaration of solvency and dissolved on 27 August 2025. A licence given up at the firm’s request is not a sanction.
Corporate Structure & Ownership
70/100The group is privately held and does not publish group accounts. Audited accounts of its UK company, filed at Companies House, name its parents, and the company register shows its controlling shareholder.
- StrengthAxi Financial Services (UK) Limited’s group accounts for the year to 30 June 2025, audited by BDO LLP, describe AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd as an intermediate parent and name TopAxi Pty Ltd as the ultimate controlling party. Companies House records Rajesh Yohannan, Axi’s chief executive, as holding 75% or more of the shares and voting rights in that company since 23 September 2022.
- ObservationGLEIF records AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd as the direct and ultimate parent of both Solaris EMEA Limited and AxiTrader LLC. No accounts were found in public sources for the group as a whole or for AxiTrader LLC.
Client Money & Payouts
42/100Clients of the UK company may be covered by the FSCS and clients of the Cyprus company by CySEC’s Investor Compensation Fund, and Australian retail clients have negative balance protection. In 2020 ASIC found that the Australian company had failed to pay client money into an account with an Australian bank and to comply with client money reporting rules. International clients have no compensation scheme and, by Axi’s own statement, no negative balance protection.
- HighIn its 2020 decision ASIC found that AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd had failed to pay client money into an account with an Australian authorised deposit-taking institution and to comply with client money reporting rules.
- HighClients of AxiTrader LLC fall outside any investor compensation scheme, and Axi states that negative balance protection does not apply to them.
- StrengthThe FCA register states that Axi Financial Services (UK) Limited can hold and control client money and that its clients may be able to claim from the FSCS if it fails. Axi states that retail clients of AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd have negative balance protection.
Execution & Pricing
Not assessed in a desk audit. Spreads, slippage and fill quality can only be measured with live accounts.
Conduct & Disclosure
54/100In January 2020 ASIC decided to suspend the Australian company’s licence for four months after finding failures to comply with financial services laws. The suspension was stayed on appeal and, in March 2021, set aside by consent after ASIC imposed additional licence conditions. In February 2026 Brazil’s CVM opened a sanctions case against the Australian company and AxiTrader LLC. It is still open, and in October 2026 both companies told the CVM they intend to propose a settlement.
- HighOn 2 January 2020 ASIC suspended the AFS licence of AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd for four months, after finding that it had failed to pay client money into an account with an Australian authorised deposit-taking institution, lodge PDS in-use notices, comply with the ASIC derivative transaction rules, comply with client money reporting rules and lodge its financial statements on time. ASIC also found a breach of the licence condition requiring adequate compliance measures, and that AxiCorp was likely to contravene its general obligations because of deficiencies and systemic failures in its compliance regime. AxiCorp applied for review the same day and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal stayed the suspension, so AxiCorp continued to provide financial services.
- MediumIn March 2021 ASIC imposed additional licence conditions on AxiCorp, requiring an independent expert review of its procedures and controls, a remediation plan, at least three full-time compliance staff and no new corporate authorised representatives until 31 December 2022, and an executive attestation. ASIC and AxiCorp then filed consent orders, and on 9 March 2021 the Tribunal set aside the suspension decision.
- MediumOn 9 February 2026 Brazil’s CVM opened sanctions case 19957.000155/2026-12 against AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd and AxiTrader LLC, based on irregularities its intermediaries supervision unit identified in an investigation that began with a complaint received on 20 August 2025. The CVM’s records show that the period for defences has ended and that on 15 October 2026 both companies indicated they intend to propose a settlement (termo de compromisso). A settlement, if the CVM accepts it, ends a case without any admission of wrongdoing. The published record does not state the charges; these are open proceedings, not findings.
Operational Resilience
Not assessed in a desk audit. Uptime, incident history and security controls require evidence from the firm or live monitoring.
People & Community
30/100No Great Place to Work certification was found. Axi reports a community programme with named charities: The STaR Association in Australia, which supports children with disabilities, and the Australian Foundation for Fostering Learning in the Philippines.
- ObservationNo Great Place to Work certification was found in Great Place to Work’s public listings.
- ObservationCommunity work is reported by Axi itself and does not state how much it contributes; we found no independent reporting. Its partnerships with Manchester City, Girona FC, Esporte Clube Bahia and the DP World Tour are commercial sponsorships and are not counted.

Evidence and scope
Scope
Desk audit of the group’s client-facing entities, using public sources only: regulator registers and announcements, court and company filings, and the firm’s own published documents, as available on 10 October 2026. No accounts were opened, nothing was tested live, and the firm was not asked for evidence.
Limitations
Absence of a public enforcement record is not evidence of good conduct. Axi’s websites redirected our requests to its EU site, so the AxiTrader LLC client agreement and the Australian product disclosure statement could not be reviewed, and the international entity is described from its website footer. AxiTrader LLC’s registration was not checked at the St Vincent and the Grenadines registry. The share of clients served through AxiTrader LLC could not be measured from public sources. The CVM’s open data does not state the charges in its 2026 case against Axi companies.
