Strong

Desk audit. TBR carried out this audit on its own initiative, using public sources only. No firm paid for it. No accounts were opened or tested, so Execution & Pricing and Operational Resilience were not assessed and do not count towards the grade. BlackBull Markets may respond, and any response is published in full. How desk audits are scored. See Verified audits, which our trading experts test hands-on.

Summary

BlackBull Markets’ New Zealand company is licensed by the Financial Markets Authority as a derivatives issuer, but the firm says that clients outside New Zealand are served by BBG Limited, a securities dealer in Seychelles, where no compensation scheme applies. Its owners are named on the New Zealand Companies Register and its New Zealand company files audited accounts, and no enforcement action was found.

Notes and sources

Evidence and scope

Scope

Desk audit of the group’s client-facing entities, using public sources only: regulator registers and announcements, company filings, and the firm’s own published documents, as available on 10 October 2026. No accounts were opened, nothing was tested live, and the firm was not asked for evidence.

Limitations

Absence of a public enforcement record is not evidence of good conduct. The Financial Markets Authority’s website could not be loaded, so its licensed-provider list and enforcement pages were not searched directly; the New Zealand licence was confirmed on the Financial Service Providers Register. The licence number of BBG Limited is taken from the firm’s disclosures. The audited accounts show client funds payable by the New Zealand company to its parent, which the pages we read do not explain. No accounts were found for BBG Limited, and the share of clients it serves could not be measured from public sources.
