Adequate

Desk audit. TBR carried out this audit on its own initiative, using public sources only. No firm paid for it. No accounts were opened or tested, so Execution & Pricing and Operational Resilience were not assessed and do not count towards the grade. FXCM may respond, and any response is published in full. Summary

FXCM is run by the Stratos group, wholly owned by the NYSE-listed Jefferies Financial Group, with licensed companies in the UK, Cyprus and Australia. Its global site is operated by a company in St Vincent and the Grenadines that, by FXCM’s own statement, holds no financial licence, takes ownership of client money and offers leverage of up to 1000:1. In October 2026 Jefferies reported that Stratos had agreed to sell substantially all of its business to AvaTrade, and UK accounts are due to move to Trade Nation in November 2026.

Notes and sources

Evidence and scope

Scope

Desk audit of the group’s client-facing entities, using public sources only: regulator registers and announcements, stock-exchange filings, and the firm’s own published documents, as available on 10 October 2026. No accounts were opened, nothing was tested live, and the firm was not asked for evidence.

Limitations

Absence of a public enforcement record is not evidence of good conduct. The South African and Israeli licences are taken from the firm’s disclosures, and enforcement by the FSCA and the Israel Securities Authority was not searched. The FCA register’s disciplinary detail did not load. The share of clients served through Stratos Global LLC is not disclosed. The terms, timing and scope of the sale to AvaTrade are known only from Jefferies’ quarterly report, and the Trade Nation transfer only from Trade Nation’s own page; this audit describes the group as it stood on 10 October 2026.
