Findings
Regulation & Licensing
66/100The FSC Mauritius, FCA, ASIC, VFSC and FSA Seychelles entries were confirmed on the registers. The international site’s terms are issued by the Mauritius company, so a large share of the business runs through an offshore entity.
- StrengthHantec Markets Limited (UK) has been authorised by the FCA since 16 June 2010 (FRN 502635) and can hold client money; Hantec Markets (Australia) Pty Limited has held Australian financial services licence 326907 since 27 August 2008.
- MediumThe terms for hmarkets.com clients are issued by Hantec Markets Limited of Mauritius, licensed by the FSC Mauritius as an investment dealer since 23 March 2017 and governed by Mauritius law. The site footer calls this company “Hantec Markets Ltd.”, while the register and the terms use “Hantec Markets Limited”, and the register does not show the licence number C114013940 that the firm states.
- ObservationThe VFSC lists Hantec Markets (V) Company Limited as an active financial dealer licensee, and the FSA Seychelles lists Hantec (Seychelles) Services Limited as a securities dealer. Neither company is named in the hmarkets.com footer.
Corporate Structure & Ownership
68/100The group is privately held. Hantec names its Hong Kong holding company, and the audited accounts of its UK company, filed at Companies House, name that company as parent. Companies House records two individuals each holding 25% to 50% of the UK company, but the accounts state that there is no ultimate controlling party.
- StrengthHantec Markets Limited (UK) files audited accounts; for 2025 they report turnover of £6.19 million, an operating loss of £7,726 and net assets of £5.5 million, and name Hantec Markets Holdings Limited, Hong Kong, as immediate and ultimate parent.
- ObservationCompanies House lists Yu Lap Tang and Nader Nurmohamed as persons with significant control of the UK company, each holding more than 25% but not more than 50%. The group accounts of the Hong Kong holding company were not found online, and the Mauritius company reports to the global LEI system that it has no known ultimate parent.
Client Money & Payouts
70/100UK clients deal with an FCA-authorised firm under UK client money rules. Clients of the Mauritius company have their money segregated under its terms, which state that no statutory compensation scheme applies, and the terms contain no negative balance protection undertaking.
- StrengthThe Mauritius terms state that “all amounts held in your account will be received and held by us as client money and segregated”, although segregated funds may be held outside Mauritius or passed to brokers and counterparties abroad.
- MediumThe Mauritius terms state: “There is currently no statutory compensation scheme in place if we are unable to meet our liabilities in respect of investment business.” They refer to negative balance protection only when listing abusive trading, and contain no undertaking to reset negative balances.
Execution & Pricing
Not assessed in a desk audit. Spreads, slippage and fill quality can only be measured with live accounts.
Conduct & Disclosure
62/100Brazil’s CVM has an open sanctions case against two companies named Hantec Markets for offering securities and intermediation services without authorisation; both submitted settlement proposals in February 2026 and the case is awaiting judgment. In 2022 the CVM ordered a Hantec company to stop offering intermediation services in Brazil through hmarkets.com.
- MediumOn 18 July 2025 the CVM opened sanctions case 19957.008543/2025-61 over the offer of securities and intermediation services by unauthorised persons, naming Hantec Markets Limited, Hantec Markets Ltd. and one individual. Both companies submitted settlement (termo de compromisso) proposals on 27 February 2026, and the case has moved to judgment, with the CVM board assigning a rapporteur. No CVM decision on the proposals was found. These are charges, not findings.
- ObservationThe CVM records do not identify the accused companies by jurisdiction. Group companies named Hantec Markets Limited exist in Mauritius and in the UK, where the FCA register lists the trading name Hantec Markets Ltd and the website hmarkets.com. The hmarkets.com footer now states that Hantec Markets is not authorised by the CVM.
- ObservationOn 17 February 2022 the CVM ordered Hantec Capital Group Holdings Limited, which it found presented itself as responsible for hmarkets.com, to stop offering intermediation services to Brazilian residents (Ato Declaratório CVM 19.562). Under our methodology a stop order alone is recorded but not scored.
- ObservationHantec Markets advertises leverage of up to 500:1. Under our methodology offshore incentives are recorded but not scored where lawful.
Operational Resilience
Not assessed in a desk audit. Uptime, incident history and security controls require evidence from the firm or live monitoring.
People & Community
0/100No Great Place to Work certification and no named community programme were found.
- ObservationThe UK company’s accounts say the firm and group “sponsor and support various different organizations”, without naming any. Hantec’s sport and culture sponsorships are commercial and are not counted.

Evidence and scope
Scope
Desk audit of the brand’s client-facing entities, using public sources only: regulator registers and announcements, sanction records, company filings, the global LEI system, and the firm’s own published documents, as available on 10 October 2026. No accounts were opened, nothing was tested live, and the firm was not asked for evidence.
Limitations
Absence of a public enforcement record is not evidence of good conduct. The CVM’s open data does not say which group companies the sanctions case names, and no CVM decision on the settlement proposals was found. The hmarkets.com documents sit behind a browser check, so the terms were read from an archived copy of the firm’s own file dated July 2026. How clients are divided between the Mauritius and UK companies could not be established. The Hong Kong holding company’s group accounts are not available online. Vanuatu enforcement records were not checked.
