TBR DESK AUDIT · PUBLIC SOURCES · BB 43/100

Weak in places

Desk audit. TBR carried out this audit on its own initiative, using public sources only. No firm paid for it. No accounts were opened or tested, so Execution & Pricing and Operational Resilience were not assessed and do not count towards the grade. IQ Option may respond, and any response is published in full. How desk audits are scored. See Verified audits, which our trading experts test hands-on.

Summary

IQ Option’s EU business is licensed by CySEC and discloses its owner, but its global business is run by SKY LADDER LLC of Antigua and Barbuda, which the firm’s own documents say is not licensed by any regulator, and which offers binary options to retail clients. CySEC reached a €450,000 settlement with the EU company in 2019, and a sanctions case in Brazil is heading to trial.

Notes and sources

Evidence and scope

Scope

Desk audit of the brand’s client-facing entities, using public sources only: regulator registers and announcements, sanction records, and the firm’s own published documents, as available on 9 October 2026. No accounts were opened, nothing was tested live, and the firm was not asked for evidence.

Limitations

Absence of a public enforcement record is not evidence of good conduct. The global site redirects visitors from Cyprus to the EU site, so the global operator is identified from the firm’s published terms and archived copies of its own site data. The company registries of Antigua, St Vincent and the Seychelles entities could not be searched. The CVM sanctions case has not been decided.

Evidence reviewed

  • CySEC register entry, IQBroker Europe Ltd
  • CySEC board decision announcement, 21 May 2019
  • CVM decisions of 2 June 2020 and 24 March 2026
  • IQBroker Europe Ltd Pillar III report for 2025
  • SKY LADDER LLC general terms and introducing broker agreement
