Summary
IronFX holds licences in Cyprus, the UK and the British Virgin Islands, but its international business runs through the BVI company, which also offers non-withdrawable deposit bonuses. A Cyprus court ordered it in 2019 to repay client funds it had withheld without justification, a consumer-protection court order of 2022 against one of its bonus terms is under appeal, and it paid CySEC a €100,000 settlement in 2024. Its owner is not disclosed.

Findings
Regulation & Licensing
55/100The CySEC licence was confirmed on the register and the UK company is authorised by the FCA. The international site is run by Notesco (BVI) Limited, regulated in the British Virgin Islands, and several of the group’s websites were not reachable when checked.
- StrengthNotesco Financial Services Ltd, formerly IronFX Global Limited, holds CySEC licence 125/10, issued 16 November 2010; the register lists www.ironfx.eu among its approved domains.
- StrengthNotesco UK Limited (FRN 585561) is authorised by the FCA, which lists it as also known as IronFX.
- MediumThe international site, ironfx.com, is run by Notesco (BVI) Limited, which the BVI Financial Services Commission lists as a currently regulated entity, outside the main retail protection regimes.
- ObservationOn 9 October 2026 ironfx.com did not resolve to a public server, ironfx.eu showed only a client portal behind a captcha, and ironfx.co.uk, the website listed on the FCA register, was a parked domain. The firm’s claims are taken from archived copies of its pages and its published terms.
Corporate Structure & Ownership
45/100The Notesco companies are identifiable on registers but report no parent, and no owner is disclosed. A payment company named in IronFX’s terms is owned by Notesco INT Limited, which Anguilla’s regulator said in 2025 has never been licensed by it.
- MediumThe Notesco companies report no parent to the global LEI system, and no owner, parent company or audited group accounts were found.
- ObservationIronFX’s terms say payments may be handled by CIFOI Limited of Gibraltar, wholly owned by Notesco INT Limited. On 15 May 2025 Anguilla’s Financial Services Commission stated that Notesco INT Limited, trading as IronFX, is not and has never been licensed by it to carry on financial services business.
Client Money & Payouts
35/100EU and UK clients have compensation schemes; clients of the BVI company have none. In 2019 a Cyprus court found IronFX had withheld two clients’ funds without justification and ordered repayment.
- HighOn 2 April 2019 the Limassol District Court ordered IronFX Global Limited to repay $14,447.08 and $24,853.35 to two clients, finding it had withheld their funds justifiably until its internal investigation ended on 19 April 2016 and without justification after that date.
- MediumClients of Notesco (BVI) Limited fall outside any investor compensation scheme.
- ObservationIn 2015 and 2016 Hungary’s central bank reported receiving around 75 and then 120 complaints that IronFX was not paying out customer withdrawals. These reports are more than eight years old and are recorded but not scored.
Execution & Pricing
Not assessed in a desk audit. Spreads, slippage and fill quality can only be measured with live accounts.
Conduct & Disclosure
42/100CySEC reached a €100,000 settlement with the Cyprus company in 2024 over the EU’s retail CFD marketing restrictions. In 2022 a Cyprus court ordered it, at the request of the consumer protection authority, to stop using a bonus term; the firm has appealed.
- HighOn 29 January 2024 CySEC’s board reached a €100,000 settlement with Notesco Financial Services Ltd (announced 2 April 2024) following an inspection of its compliance during 2023 with the EU’s restrictions on the marketing, distribution and sale of CFDs to retail clients. The company paid the amount.
- MediumOn 30 September 2022 the Limassol District Court, on an application by the Director of the Consumer Protection Service under the unfair contract terms law, ordered Notesco Financial Services Limited to stop using term 17 of its 2014 “60% welcome bonus” terms and not to use it again. Notesco has appealed, and the outcome is not confirmed.
- ObservationA €335,000 CySEC settlement (November 2015) and a €2,000 CySEC fine (December 2017) are more than eight years old, so they are recorded here but not scored.
- ObservationIronFX or Notesco companies have been named as unauthorised by regulators in India (RBI Alert List), Malaysia (2025), Anguilla (2025), Spain (CNMV, 2021 and 2022), Italy (CONSOB, 2019 and 2021, about other Notesco websites) and Canada (BCSC, 2019). Under our methodology these warnings are recorded but not scored.
- ObservationThe international site offered 100%, 40% and 20% deposit bonuses that cannot be withdrawn, and leverage of up to 1:1000 (archived 20 September 2026). Under our methodology offshore incentives are recorded but not scored where lawful.
Operational Resilience
Not assessed in a desk audit. Uptime, incident history and security controls require evidence from the firm or live monitoring.
People & Community
30/100No Great Place to Work certification was found. IronFX names charities it supports in Cyprus, including Down Syndrome Cyprus, the Red Cross, the Pournara refugee centre and the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, without dates or amounts.
- ObservationNo Great Place to Work certification was found in Great Place to Work’s public listings.
- ObservationCommunity contribution is reported by IronFX itself; we found no independent reporting of amounts.

Evidence and scope
Scope
Desk audit of the brand’s client-facing entities, using public sources only: regulator registers and announcements, court records, and the firm’s own published documents, as available on 9 October 2026. No accounts were opened, nothing was tested live, and the firm was not asked for evidence.
Limitations
Absence of a public enforcement record is not evidence of good conduct. IronFX’s international and EU sites could not be loaded live, so its claims are taken from archived copies and its published terms. Only part of Cyprus first-instance judgments are published, so other court cases may exist. The outcome of the appeal against the 2022 consumer-protection order could not be confirmed. Reported South African and Bermudan licences could not be checked at the regulators.
