TBR DESK AUDIT · PUBLIC SOURCES · B 36/100

Material weaknesses

Desk audit. TBR carried out this audit on its own initiative, using public sources only. No firm paid for it. No accounts were opened or tested, so Execution & Pricing and Operational Resilience were not assessed and do not count towards the grade. Octa may respond, and any response is published in full. How desk audits are scored. See Verified audits, which our trading experts test hands-on.

Summary

Octa’s EU business holds a CySEC licence, but its global site is run by a Saint Lucia company that names no licence. In 2025 CySEC found the influence of Octa’s ultimate owner prejudicial to the sound management of its Cyprus company, and in India money-laundering prosecution complaints against OctaFX are before a special court. Findings about OctaFX before 2026 concern the brand’s earlier operators.

Notes and sources

Evidence and scope

Scope

Desk audit of the brand’s client-facing entities, using public sources only: regulator registers and announcements, court and enforcement records, and the firm’s own published documents, as available on 9 October 2026. No accounts were opened, nothing was tested live, and the firm was not asked for evidence.

Limitations

Absence of a public enforcement record is not evidence of good conduct. The Directorate of Enforcement’s statements are allegations in proceedings that have not concluded. The Saint Lucia, FSC Mauritius and Mwali registers were not queried, and a reported Philippines SEC advisory could not be opened. A reported 2026 sale of the brand could not be confirmed from primary sources, so the relationship between the current global operator and OctaFX’s earlier operators is not established.
